Wij nodigen u graag uit voor de uitreiking van de Sartonmedaille aan prof. Yves Segers, die zal plaatsvinden op donderdag 2 april 2026 om 17 uur aan de Faculteit Bio-ingenieurswetenschappen van de Universiteit Gent.
Naar aanleiding hiervan zal prof. Segers de Sartonlezing geven met als titel:
“Who Knows Best? Authority, Mediation and Resistance in Agrarian Knowledge Production and Circulation in Europe, 1800s–2000s”De Sartonmedaille wordt toegekend als erkenning voor uitzonderlijke bijdragen aan de geschiedenis van de wetenschap. Prof. Segers ontvangt deze onderscheiding voor zijn invloedrijke werk binnen de rurale en agrarische geschiedenis en de bredere maatschappelijke relevantie daarvan.

On this occasion, Prof. Segers will deliver the Sarton Lecture entitled:

The Sarton Medal is awarded in recognition of outstanding contributions to the history of science. Prof. Segers receives this distinction for his influential work in rural and agrarian history and its broader societal relevance.
